John Franks has 40 years of experience designing, manufacturing, and applying large power converters, switchboards, generators., and battery energy storage systems.

He received a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Mercer University.

John was an engineering manager at Alstom, Letourneau, & Ansaldo Ross Hill before founding and serving as COO of Current Power. Current Power engineered, manufactured, and automated high-power electrical equipment for marine, drilling, and mining applications. John Franks is currently providing engineering consulting for high-power electrical equipment and applications.
